Presidential candidate from the Ecological Party of Uzbekistan Abdushukur Khamzayev presented important directions of his Election Program at a meeting with voters at the Palace of Culture in Almalyk.

He focused on the issues of environmental protection and rational use of natural resources. It was noted that several districts of Tashkent region have many problems with sewage and water treatment facilities and waste. The Ecological Party pays attention to such issues and puts forward a proposal for the implementation of a state policy aimed at providing the population with clean drinking water, reducing emissions into the atmosphere, and promoting waste recycling.

Attention will be paid to implementing organizational-legal reforms aimed at the rational use of water resources, and improving the provision of clean drinking water to the population, especially citizens living in rural areas. It is proposed to terminate the activities of any enterprise that creates an unpleasant smell in populated areas and does not have local treatment facilities until the introduction of technologies that meet these requirements.

Particular attention was paid to such proposals as the adoption of a “Strategy for sustainable environmental development” aimed at determining the priorities of state environmental policy, prospects for the development of renewable energy sources, as well as the development of a national program aimed at the efficient use of water, accession to several international documents.

At the meeting, held in the form of an open dialogue, the participants expressed their proposals for the implementation of the tasks set out in the candidate's Election Program and called for the support of the Ecological Party of Uzbekistan in achieving such important goals as environmental protection and preservation of priceless natural resources.
