00:34 / 2021-09-22

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Youth Festival in Nukus.

“After returning from Bozatau district, I heard about youth festival and decided to meet with you. Because wherever I go, I always try to communicate with young people. It is in your eyes, knowledge, and confidence in the future that I see a New Uzbekistan, a New Karakalpakstan, and I get great strength from this”, Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.

A large-scale work has been carried out in Karakalpakstan in the Year of Supporting Youth and Improving Population Health. 14 new schools were built in cities and districts, 4 new universities were established.

“I always talk about young people, about the importance of education, gaining knowledge. Knowledge does not burn in fire and does not sink in water. The more knowledge we have, the better our future will be. We have set a goal to lay the foundation for the Third Renaissance. Who will build this foundation? Only educated young people”, the President said.

It was noted that the work aimed at creating opportunities for young people will continue. In particular, 55 new schools, additional buildings for 187 schools will be built, 135 schools will be overhauled.

The President noted that in the next five years, the coverage of higher education will reach 50 percent, for which 6 branches of prestigious universities of Uzbekistan and foreign countries will be established in Karakalpakstan.

In the next five years, more than 100 thousand young people will be trained in foreign languages and IT technologies in youth centers and general education schools in every city and district. New dormitories for 6 thousand people will be built.

The youth warmly welcomed the President.
