President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the activities of Khiva Carpet Factory.

Previously, the building on the site of the enterprise was not used. In September 2020, a modern plant was established here, and in August this year, the implementation of the second stage of the project started.

The company is equipped with energy-saving equipment from Germany, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, France and Turkey. Polypropylene yarn, carpets and other products are produced here. They are exported to the United States, Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Tajikistan.

The Head of the state inspected the technological process and the showroom of the enterprise.

250 people are employed at the plant. In 2022, the third stage – a project for the production of yarn from acrylic fibers will be implemented. As a result, the production capacity will reach 2.2 million square meters per year. It is expected that 45 percent of products will be exported, and annual exports will exceed $5 million.

The President gave instructions to expand the range of products and create similar enterprises in other districts.
