President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to visit Saudi Arabia

Presidential Press Secretary Sherzod Asadov held a briefing for journalists.

It was noted that the past week was full of important events. The Head of the state visited two regions in three days. Meetings, a presentation and a videoconference were held.

At the briefing, journalists were informed about the visits of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev this week.

On August 17-18, at the invitation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King of Saudi Arabia Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will pay a state visit to this country.

High-level talks will take place in Jeddah. Issues of further enhancing multilateral cooperation between the two countries will be discussed. The main attention will be paid to the issues of the green economy, the sphere of high technologies and digitalization, innovations, small business and entrepreneurship.

Following the summit, a large package of bilateral documents is expected to be signed.

The President of Uzbekistan will also hold a meeting with the heads of leading Saudi companies, prestigious international structures – the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Islamic Development Bank.

The President will visit Holy Makkah and Medina. The visit will become the first visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Saudi Arabia over the past 30 years.

During the week, the President also plans to hold meetings on socio-economic issues.

Last year, a meeting of the President was organized in a completely new format – an open dialogue with entrepreneurs. The first such meeting took place on August 20, since then this day has been celebrated in the country as Entrepreneurs Day.

This year, the President will also meet with entrepreneurs, analyze the problems and tasks in the sphere, get acquainted with the proposals and initiatives of business representatives, and make new decisions that will serve to develop entrepreneurship. The republican headquarters has already received almost 8.5 thousand appeals from entrepreneurs, 72 percent of them have been resolved. The event is scheduled for August 22.
