Presidential Press Secretary Sherzod Asadov held a briefing for journalists.

Mr. Asadov informed about the activities of the Head of the state last week. As previously reported, on August 15, the President had a telephone conversation with the President of the Republic of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and on August 16 – with the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. The most important event of the past week was the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Head of the state congratulated members of Uzbekistan national team, who won 51 gold, 42 silver and 65 bronze medals at the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games and took second place in the team event.

Presidential Press Secretary noted that on August 22, the Head of the state will hold an open dialogue with entrepreneurs. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will also receive the U.S. Congressmen Trent Kelly and Darin LaHood. During the week, the President is expected to visit Samarkand region to get acquainted with the construction work carried out in the region and socio-economic projects. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will also hold several meetings on the socio-economic development of the country.
