On March 24, during the International Investment Forum, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Chairperson of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States, Deputy Chairperson of the Justice and Development Party of Turkey Binali Yildirim, who visits Uzbekistan on a working visit.

Mr. Binali Yildirim conveyed sincere greetings and best wishes from the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan to the President of Uzbekistan.

The President of Uzbekistan noted with satisfaction the current level of Uzbekistan – Turkey strategic partnership. The volume of mutual trade is growing, major investment projects are being implemented to create modern industry and modernize infrastructure. Cultural-humanitarian ties are being strengthened.

Active preparations are underway for the next meeting of Uzbekistan – Turkey Strategic Cooperation Council of the highest level.

Issues of interaction within the Organization of Turkic States were considered. The main attention was paid to the practical implementation of the agreements of the Istanbul Summit of the Organization, held in November last year.

These include the promotion of joint initiatives and projects in trade, transport and logistics, industrial cooperation, the development of a green economy, innovation and high technology transfer.

Views were also exchanged on the current issues of the regional agenda.
