President of Uzbekistan completes his visit to Egypt

On February 21 talks were held with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi at the Al-Ittihadiya Palace in Cairo.

The parties expressed interest in exchanging experience in fighting corruption, countering modern security challenges and threats, and mutual support for international initiatives to stabilize and rebuild Afghanistan.

Here the President of Uzbekistan proposed to jointly organize the Global Forum of Arabists in 2024.

Following the talks, the heads of state adopted a Joint Statement aimed at enhancing collaboration in the political, trade, economic, investment, cultural and educational fields.

Documents were signed between the ministries and agencies of the two countries, including the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, as well as the Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan and the General Authority for Investments of Egypt.

Memoranda of understanding were also signed between the Center for Islamic Civilization of Uzbekistan, the Institute of Oriental Studies named after Abu Rayhan Beruni and the National Library and Archives of Egypt.

Next, the Presidents made press statements.

The President of Uzbekistan put forward an initiative to create a Scientific Friendship Society between scientists of the two countries for an in-depth study of the scientific heritage of the great scientist Ahmad Fergani.

The Egyptian officials saw off the distinguished guest at Cairo International Airport. 

The two-day visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Egypt was fruitful.
