On the occasion of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the President of the 75th session of the UN General Assembly Volkan Bozkir sent his congratulations to all Uzbeks.
– I would like to sincerely congratulate the people of Uzbekistan on a significant date in the history of the state, – he said. – Having visited Uzbekistan three times, including this July, I was deeply impressed by the heritage and spirit of this great country.
From the rich millennial history of the cities of Bukhara and Samarkand, to the thriving forward thinking city of Tashkent, Uzbekistan reflects both a deep appreciation for the past, and the vision for a sustainable, modern, and resilient future.
Uzbekistan has the potential to act as a regional hub for Central and South Asia. At the confluence of these historical juncture lies immense economic potential from enhancing regional connectivity between South and Central Asia, a vision, which is his current leadership is pursuing aggressively.
I'm also encouraged by the vision, because it embraces the goals and principles of the Sustainable Development Goals and is focused on empowering youth, expanding digital connectivity and boosting environmental sustainability.
To my friends, brothers and sisters in Uzbekistan thank you and congratulations!
