13:39 / 2021-05-12

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev chairs a videoconference on the priority tasks of ensuring economic growth in regions and industries in the first half of the year.

The Head of the state criticized the leaders of some industries and regions for not fully using the opportunities provided.

“How can you explain the fact that in the first quarter, production in Uzavtosanoat decreased by 40 percent, in Uzbekneftegaz by 4.7 percent, leather production by 10 percent, and how to justify the decline in pharmaceutical production by 22 percent, at a time when the demand for drugs and medical supplies has risen sharply over the past year?” said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

It was also noted that compared to last year, the volume of production at 74 large territorial enterprises decreased by 1.1 trillion UZS.

At the videoconference, the deputy prime ministers, ministers and heads of sectors, all hokims were instructed to eliminate the lags that occurred in May-June.

It is necessary to increase the production of basic energy resources to ensure economic growth.

It was noted that due to a 1.7 percent decrease in natural gas production in the first quarter, the production of 600 thousand tons of cement, 55 thousand tons of mineral fertilizers and 330 million kilowatt-hours of electricity was not ensured.

A. Sultonov and M. Abdullayev were instructed in the second quarter to eliminate the admitted lags and ensure the production of 9 billion cubic meters of natural and 165 thousand tons of liquefied gas.

Thermal power plants, together with Uzbekhydroenergo JSC, were instructed to ensure the production in the second quarter of a total of 15.5 billion kilowatts of electricity to fully meet the needs of industrial sectors, business entities and the needs of the population.

A. Sultonov and U. Mustafoyev, together with the hokims of the regions, were instructed to eliminate the existing delays and by August 1 this year ensure the launch of the automated systems for commercial accounting by 100 percent.
