President Shavkat Mirziyoyev chairs a videoconference on ensuring price stability for basic food products and creating their reserve.
“The world is facing food shortages due to climate change and drought in many countries. As is known, most countries impose restrictions on food exports due to the situation in the international arena, the disruption of global production chains, logistics problems.
In such conditions, the hokims of regions, districts and cities should calculate their capabilities to fully satisfy domestic demand and increase exports. However, many hokims still do not understand this”, the Head of the state noted at the beginning of his speech.
This year, 80 thousand cultivated lands released after the reduction of cotton and grain areas were transferred to the population. According to the Presidential resolution signed today, another 20,000 hectares will be transferred to the population by the end of the year, and next year – 100,000 hectares of cultivated land on a competitive basis. Thanks to this, conditions will be created for the employment of 1 million 200 thousand residents.
