President of Uzbekistan chairs a videoconference on the execution of judicial acts.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev chairs a videoconference on the execution of judicial acts.

The situation in the country related to the coronavirus pandemic was analyzed at the event.

In particular, it was noted that over the past 8 months, sufficient experience has been accumulated in countering COVID-19, and medical workers have acquired necessary skills for this.

As is known, quarantine requirements were gradually softened while maintaining strict control over the chain of spread of the virus. However, taking into account the situation in the world and neighboring countries, the fight against this disease in Uzbekistan cannot be stopped for a minute, because the threat has not yet passed.

To date, the number of detected cases in Uzbekistan has exceeded 70 thousand, almost 68 thousand people have recovered (96 percent), and the fatal case is 599 (0.9 percent).

Hokims, heads of sectors and responsible persons of the healthcare system are assigned a number of tasks.

First of all, it is necessary to constantly analyze and respond to the situation accordingly. In particular, the assigned managers should be engaged at least two days a week exclusively in countering the coronavirus on their territory, hold meetings of headquarters, and regularly report to the Republican Special Commission.

“I emphasize once again: this disease does not forgive indifference. At the same time, we must continue to live and work with dignity, relying on the vast experience and comprehensive conclusions we have accumulated during the pandemic”,- the Head of the state noted.

Today, 17.5 thousand beds have been allocated for patients with COVID-19 in 89 institutions across Uzbekistan. Currently, 6,570 patients are being treated in these institutions. Bed occupancy is 16 percent in Karakalpakstan, 10 percent in Khorezm, 11 percent in Kashkadarya, 19 percent in Namangan region, and 38 percent in the country as a whole. A bulk of money is spent on maintaining this Fund.

In this regard, responsible persons were instructed to thoroughly study the activities of hospitals designated for coronavirus and optimize them.

As is known, a number of decrees and resolutions have been adopted aimed at radically improving the education system and developing the healthcare sector, and recently separate videoconference sessions were held on these two issues.

“I am concerned about the implementation of these decrees and resolutions, and how hokims organize activities in this direction. Until the hokims involve modern-minded and self-sacrificing heads of departments of public education and healthcare, they will not be able to achieve practical results”, the President stressed.

It was noted that the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, hokims of the regions and the city of Tashkent should set a personal example to lower-level managers in implementing the reforms initiated and twice a week to fulfill instructions regarding school education and medicine.
