President chairs a meeting on the priority tasks of building residential buildings in “Yangi O’zbekiston” (New Uzbekistan) neighborhoods and implementing the mortgage program in 2023.

It was noted that over the past six years, the country’s population has grown by 5.5 million people and will soon reach 40 million. It was emphasized that 326,000 new residential buildings have been put into operation since 2017. During this period, the level of housing per capita increased by 18 percent.

Over the past three years, 210,000 families received mortgage loans for 33 trillion UZS, and 73,000 low-income families received subsidies for 1.3 trillion UZS for the down payment and interest payments.

Market principles were introduced into the industry. Hundreds of private customer companies were created. 11 large clusters have been organized in the construction of high-rise buildings from earthquake-resistant and energy-efficient precast concrete.
