Presentation of the multi-volume publication “Pearls of Turkic Literature”

The Regional Information and Library Center in Samarkand hosted a presentation of the publication “Pearls of Turkic Literature” of one hundred volumes and a meeting with creative people who participated in its preparation.

The series of books “Pearls of Turkic Literature” was prepared in accordance with the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan, which he spoke about at the 17th Summit of the Organization of Turkic States in Baku on October 15, 2019.

The series of books includes the best examples of literature, a total of 629 famous writers, poets, and thinkers of the 11th-21st centuries from Uzbekistan, Türkiye, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, and Hungary.

– More than 200 translators, 100 literary and textual scholars, writers, editors, and artists were involved in the preparation of this publication, – said the chief specialist of Uzbekistan Writers Union, coordinator of the working group for the preparation of the 100-volume book, Risolat Khaydarova. – 5 volumes are devoted to general literature, 28 to Uzbek literature, 5 to Karakalpak, 17 to Turkish, 16 to Azerbaijani, 10 to Kazakh, 9 to Kyrgyz, 9 to Turkmen, 1 to Hungarian literature.

The first circulation of the series was 200 thousand copies.
