Presentation of the book “The Art of Central Asian Miniatures of the XV-XVII Centuries”

The Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan hosted a presentation of the book “The Art of Central Asian Miniatures of the XV-XVII Centuries” as part of the 4th Tashkent International Biennale of Applied Arts.

The author of the book is a Candidate in Art History Zukhra Rakhimova. The Executive Editor is a Doctor of Art History Dilafruz Qodirova, and the compiler is a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in art history Binafsha Nodir.

The author explores the place and significance of book miniatures in the Islamic East, emphasizing that miniature illustrated manuscripts are unique areas of world fine art.

In the XV-XVII centuries, there was a high development of book miniatures in the territory of present-day Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Türkiye, and India.

In the publication, the author, for the first time, turns to the life and work of ten great artists of Bukhara and Samarkand.
