The Institute of Materials Science of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent organized the Uzbekistan – China International Scientific Forum on new materials.

The forum mainly focuses on discussing problems and identifying trends in the scientific and practical circulation of information, synthesis, production, and application of new materials and green and renewable energy sources. To expand international relations between business community representatives, an exhibition “New materials for a green economy”, was organized, at which innovative developments, solutions, and ideas of Uzbekistan scientists were presented.

A presentation of technologies and materials for green energy, low-carbon raw materials, projects for the agricultural and construction sectors, research on industrial waste processing, and a discussion of “Business and Science”, were held. Experts discussed organizing a joint Uzbekistan – China venture to produce a new type of nano-sized functional powder film for greenhouses.

The participants also discussed the organization of the Uzbekistan – China Institute of Functional Materials in Shanghai. The activities of each structure will aim to introduce and expand research on technologies developed by scientists at the Institute of Materials Science of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
