In Qarshi, the Qashqadaryo Regional stage of the contest “The best project of girl entrepreneurs” has taken place.

The contest was arranged under the slogan “My life, my destiny – my native unique Uzbekistan” by the regional women’s committee, the Central Bank’s main directorate, the secondary special and vocational training directorate, the territorial directorate of the Commerce and Industry Chamber and the Tadbirkor Ayol association’s department.

It has been said that under the leadership of the country’s President, special attention is being paid to creating modern conditions for bringing up a generation that is second to none and to supporting and encouraging young people’s entrepreneurial initiatives.

The presidential decree dated 25 May 2004 “On additional measures to support the activity of the Women’s Committee of Uzbekistan” is an important guidance document for action for social-legal support for women and their employment as well as for their wide involvement in entrepreneurial activity.

More than 23 thousand girls graduated from secondary special and vocational training establishments in the region this year. Commercial banks intend to allocate 2.2 billion soms worth of credits for graduates who have expressed a desire to engage in entrepreneurship.

Many promising projects are being implemented. They are aimed at effectively using possibilities created for women’s entrepreneurship in the country.

As part of the contest, there was an exhibition of products of women entrepreneurs, family enterprises, craftswomen and farmers in the region. Master-classes were conducted for college graduates.

The winners in such nominations as “The best project in the services sphere”, “The project in the agricultural sphere” and “The best industrial project” were announced, and they will be taking part in the republican stage of the contest. Several girl entrepreneurs were given certificates entitling them to a credit from a commercial bank.
