In the Qibray District of Tashkent Region, a training seminar has taken place on the organization of work of precinct electoral commissions for the elections of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.The event was arranged jointly by the Central Electoral Commission, Tashkent Region’s district electoral commission No 10 and the regional territorial department of the independent institute for monitoring civil society formation. The event began with the presentation of a polling station formed in the “Do’rmon” culture house.
The secretary of the Central Electoral Commission, S.Kurbonqulov; the chairman of Tashkent Region’s district electoral commission No 10, H.Hamidov, and others noted that special attention to creating the necessary conditions for the qualitative and effective functioning of precinct electoral commissions was the basis for conducting this political event at a high level.
“During the seminar attended by members of Tashkent Region’s district electoral commission No 10, workers of a press centre created in the district and chiefs of organizational monitoring groups of town and district governorates, there was an exchange of opinions on issues of ensuring the transparent conduct of the elections in conformity with the requirements of the national legislation. Clearly, the polling station was equipped in accordance with norm-setting requirements, and all the necessary conditions were created there for conducting this important political event at a high level. Participants in the seminar found the polling station impressive,” says the deputy chairperson of Tashkent Region’s district electoral commission No 10, M.Yoldosheva.
During the seminar, reports were heard on such topics as “the main tasks of precinct electoral commissions for elections of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan”, “Changes and additions made to the electoral legislation” and “Rules of financing the work of precinct electoral commissions”.
