Fergana is actively preparing for the elections of deputies to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Local Councils.

Issues of creating conditions for people with disabilities to participate in the elections were considered at the regular meeting of the regional election commission.

Senior officials from several departments, media workers, and long-term OSCE observers Benedicte Williams and Michael Haussmann attended the meeting.

The Head of the Fergana Regional Department of the National Agency for Social Protection, A. Salimov, noted that a list of voters who cannot come to the polling station independently, have hearing and visual impairments, and need assistance in the voting process is being compiled. Work is underway to create conditions for their voting on election day.

At the meeting, responsible persons provided information on the work to ensure public safety, protection from emergencies, and fire safety in the territories of electoral districts and precincts, in buildings where election commissions are located, and in premises for voting.

The commission members made the appropriate decisions.
