In the first week of May this year, the International Folklore Festival “Boysun Bakhori” (“Baysun Spring”) will be held in Baysun district, Surkhandarya region, Uzbekistan.
In the picturesque mountains, a modern tourist center is being built in Bibishirin mahalla. A luxurious five-story four-star hotel, a large stage, an amphitheater, ethno-sports grounds, and other infrastructure facilities are built here. Yurts are being installed, zones designated for the city of Termez, and district and regional organizations and institutions are being created.
According to information from the regional organizing committee, more than 20 countries have expressed a desire to participate in the festival. Over 100 folk art masters and tourists from more than 40 countries are expected to arrive.
Hokim of the region Ulugbek Qosimov visited Baysun district and got acquainted with the final work being carried out in the tourist center. He inspected the location of the sites, the process of installing yurts, and the progress of constructing a new road. He gave relevant instructions to those in charge to thoroughly prepare for organizing various folk games and competitions, exciting tourist site trips, and providing quality services to foreign tourists.
The festival competition will be held in such areas as folklore, national folk games, and performing arts. The team that takes first place will receive $3,500, the second place will receive $2,500, and the third will receive $1,500. The winners will also be awarded special diplomas, certificates and a statuette of the international festival.
