Before the International Folklore Festival “Baysun Spring”, the Hokimiyat of Surkhandarya region, the regional tourism departments, information and mass communications organized a press conference.
Deputy Hokim of the region, Deputy Chairman of the regional organizing committee for the festival Jurabek Turayev, head of the Press Service of the Regional Hokimiyat Murodbek Davlatov, head of the regional department for information and mass communications Zahiriddin Turayev presented detailed information on the role of the international festival in the revival of national and universal values, the need to hold this large-scale event at a high level and work to prepare its coverage in local and foreign media.
The international festival, which will bring together performers of world folklore, experts in national folk games, and masters of entertainment art in Baysun district, is scheduled for May 1-7.
Members of 150 delegations and representatives of international organizations from more than 40 countries have expressed their desire to participate in the international festival. To objectively assess the talent of the performers, a jury was formed, which included representatives from the United Kingdom, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. Folklore groups and solo performers from 16 countries will demonstrate their art at competitions within the festival.
The performer who takes first place in the international festival competition will receive a prize of $3,500, the second-place winner will receive an award of $2,500, and the third-place winner will receive a prize of $1,500. The competition of national folk games and performing arts will be held in 10 nominations, and the winner of each nomination will be awarded a prize of $500.
The international festival will begin on May 1 with an International Conference on “The role of the Surkhan oasis in the civilization of mankind: the foundations of tangible and intangible culture” at Termez State University. It will be attended by foreign and local scientists, famous artists, and honored festival guests. The festival’s grand opening will take place on May 2 in the majestic theater of Baysun district. On May 3, the awards ceremony for the competition winners will be held, and on May 7, the closing ceremony of the international festival will take place.
Throughout the festival, a wide variety of activities will be held, including traditional folk games, the thrilling uloq-kupkari, captivating drone shows, and a series of interesting concert programs. In addition, exciting trips will be organized for both local and foreign tourists, and exclusive press conferences and tours will be arranged for journalists, ensuring a dynamic and engaging experience for all.
