Continuing reforms
1,500 jobs have been created in the mahalla. A huge amount of work lies behind this figure, far-sighted decisions made. And such a significant indicator testifies to the well-being of families, and people’s gratitude for the current bright days.
During a business trip, I visited the Buyuk Turon Small Industrial Zone in the city of Karshi. I saw with my own eyes the activities of new enterprises and talked with people working there. Everything is at a high level.
Two major projects have been implemented in recent years in the industrial zone, located on the territory of the “Buyuk Turon” mahalla. As a result, more than 500 new jobs have been created. Two more projects are scheduled to be launched by the end of this year. Thus, the volume of production will exceed 162 billion UZS, and the total number of jobs – 1,500.
While writing the article, I remembered the words of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev at a meeting devoted to the issues of economic development of Kashkadarya region.
The President noted that in each district the potential must be turned into a project and the project into jobs. It is gratifying that, thanks to the created optimal economic environment, the activities of business entities are increasingly improving.
Investments – another one-and-a-half billion dollars
In recent years, attention has increased in the region to the development of industry, support for entrepreneurship, and home-based work. Let's justify this idea with concrete figures.

Over the past five years, investments of ten billion dollars have been attracted to Kashkadarya region. And it gave its results. Compared to the five-six-year previous period, the number of entrepreneurs increased by 2.5 times. More than three hundred thousand permanent jobs have been created. In eight districts where industry had previously been poorly developed, production volume increased two to three times. Reforms in this direction will be consistently continued. This year it is planned to attract $1 billion 500 million of investments to the region. As a result, measures will be taken to provide jobs for 440,000 people.
Employment issues are always under the constant attention of the Head of state. And it is no coincidence that attention is focused on the effective use of the opportunities provided.
On February 23, 2023, the President of the country signed a resolution “On additional measures for further development of home-based work”.
This document opened the doors of great opportunities for more than six thousand people engaged in home-based work in 80 mahallas of the region.
As part of the implementation of the resolution, up to 2 million UZS of a revolving loan and up to 1 million UZS of an interest-free loan will be allocated for each involved home-based worker. Home-based workers are allowed to engage in self-employment without paying taxes. The provision of certain subsidies for the purchase of inventory and raw materials created additional opportunities.
Undoubtedly, such conditions will bring results in Kashkadarya. According to the analysis, in 150 mahallas, there are opportunities to additionally attract another 20,000 people to home-based work.
What is the situation in industrial zones today?
Let’s return to the issue of the Buyuk Turon Small Industrial Zone.

The Alp Techno Service LLC has more than 1 hectare on the territory of this zone. The project cost of this enterprise, capable of producing 120,000 TV sets and monitors per year, is $5 million.
Equipping the enterprise with modern equipment imported from China has a positive effect on the volume of production and product quality. And the organization of work using modern technologies ensures the productivity of 70 employees.
The company exports products that have been audited by world-famous brands JVC, TCL, and Zimmer.
“If last year we exported products worth $3 million, then this year we are planning to increase this figure to $6 million”, says the Head of the enterprise Shavkat Muradov. – Our quality and demanded products are mainly exported to Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan. We were delighted that the President visited our company, got acquainted with the manufactured electrical products and the production process. Entrepreneurs of our country feel the personal support of the Head of state. We have big plans for this year. In the first quarter, an SMT line will be set up – for the assembly of boards and the production of thermoplastics. As a result, 30 more jobs will be created.

The second project is the enterprise of the Kitob Ip-Yigiruv JSC, located in the Buyuk Turon Small Industrial Zone. The enterprise, which employs 320 people, will produce ready-made garments and knitwear.
There are production facilities for manufacturing 5 million units of high-quality and competitive finished products per year. The enterprise has a high probability of increasing its export potential in the future.
There are many such projects in the industrial zones of the region. There are sufficient conditions for their fruitful activity.
During his trip to Kashkadarya region, the President also spoke about the need for using vacant areas in industrial zones. Responsible persons were tasked to implement new projects and create additional jobs.
Reforms will consistently continue.
