Portugal hosts the World Para Swimming Championships.

Representatives of more than 30 countries, including six athletes from Uzbekistan, are taking part in the tournament, which gives important rating points for Paris 2024 Summer Paralympics.

On the first day of the championships in the men's 100-meter butterfly in the S13 class, the winner of the Tokyo 2020 Summer Paralympics Islam Aslanov won the bronze medal with a result of 56.94 seconds.

Bogdan Bektimirov, Firdavs Musabekov, Kirill Pankov, Muzaffar Tursunkhodjayev and Muslima Odilova are also defending the honor of the country at the championships, which will run until June 20.
