Pomegranates will become a brand of Fergana
The area of pomegranate orchards in Fergana region in 2018 was 861 hectares, in 2021 – 1,120 hectares, and in 2022 it exceeded 2,500 hectares.
Pomegranates are grown in Quva, Quvasay, Baghdad, Tashlak, Kushtepa, Rishtan and Uzbekistan districts.
In 2021, almost 6,500 tons of this delicious fruit were exported. This year it is planned to collect more than 12 thousand tons in Fergana region. 1.5 thousand tons of products worth $1.4 million have already been issued. 70 entrepreneurs are engaged in export. They are exported to Russia, Korea, Mongolia, Kyrgyzstan and Ukraine. Pomegranates are sent to Korea by flights and to other countries by trucks.
