Polling stations to be created at the representative offices of Uzbekistan abroad

A regular meeting of the Central Election Commission took place. The participants considered issues related to the preparation for snap presidential elections in Uzbekistan, in particular, the creation of polling stations at diplomatic and other representative offices of the Republic of Uzbekistan in foreign countries, the formation of expert groups to verify the correctness of filling out signature sheets submitted by political parties.

Deputy Chairman of the Central Election Commission Bakhrom Kuchkarov informed about the first issue:

– In accordance with the Electoral Code and the Regulation on the procedure for the formation of polling stations at diplomatic and other representations of the Republic of Uzbekistan in foreign countries, approved by Resolution No. 966 of the Central Election Commission of October 22, 2019, it is advisable to create 56 polling stations at 39 diplomatic and other representations of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

According to the legislation, the Central Election Commission decides the issue of assigning polling stations established outside the Republic of Uzbekistan to the corresponding electoral districts. Based on this, it was proposed to assign polling stations abroad to the 14th Tashkent city constituency, – said the CEC Deputy Chairman.

After discussion, a decision was made to create 56 polling stations at diplomatic and other representative offices of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and these stations are assigned to the 14th Tashkent city constituency.
