The first-round matches of the Australian Open 2026 main tournament, the Grand Slam of the tennis calendar, have kicked off in Melbourne.

Two representatives of the Uzbekistan national team, Kamilla Rakhimova and Polina Kudermetova, are taking part in the tournament.

In the first round of singles, Polina Kudermetova will face Guiomar Maristany Zuleta de Reales from Spain. Kamilla Rakhimova will meet with U.S. representative Coco Gauff tomorrow, January 19.

On January 20, Kamilla Rakhimova will play doubles with Russia’s Anna Blinkova against the Chan Hao-ching (Taiwan) – Jiang Xinyu (China) tandem.

Yulia Putintseva (Kazakhstan), Maria Sakkari (Greece), and Jasmine Paolini (Italy) have already won the first-round singles matches of the tournament.
