Kashkadarya region intend to grow export-oriented products, particularly pepper on an area of 5100 hectares. The role of exporting enterprises is important in implementation of such a large project.“Big Agro” LLC is planting pepper on an area of 2100 hectares in Mirishkor and Karshi districts of the region.
– Seeds of hot cayenne pepper were brought from India, – says Bobur Abdumavlonov, a clerk of “Big Agro”. – This variety is distinguished by high yield, suitable for our climatic conditions. Experienced specialists from India and Indonesia are attracted for the qualitative implementation of agrotechnical activities. They studied the composition of soil and water, gave their recommendations. At present, activities are being held on transplanting pepper into the open ground – 70 thousand bushes per hectare. According to calculations, we can harvest 20-25 tons of pepper per hectare.
According to the project, an area, where the pepper is grown, will be irrigated by sprinkling. In addition, the soil will be treated with a special chemical, which for a long time maintains soil moisture up to 60 percent. This allows to expend water three times more economically. For example, hot peppers are watered 12-14 times during growth. Moreover, if to use the above method, then 4-5 times watering is enough.
The harvested crop will be exported in dried form. An average of 5 tons dried product can be obtained from 20 tons of hot pepper. Dried peppers are obtained in three types: whole, divided into several parts and ground, packed and sent for export.
In addition, representatives of “Big Agro” LLC established cooperation with more than 4 thousand farms. The company provides sprouts of hot pepper and necessary chemicals at discounted prices to farmers, gives advice and recommendations on qualitative conduction of agrotechnical measures. Thus, hot pepper will be grown on another 3 thousand hectares. Most importantly, thousands of people from nearby villages will be provided with seasonal work.
