Pepper cultivation – an effective driving area in Fergana district
In Fergana district, greenhouse farms are expanding annually and becoming a source of stable income for the population. Pepper cultivation has become a particularly effective area of economic development in the region.
A resident of Guzar mahalla, an experienced farmer, Abdurasul Akmedov, said that fruit trees were once grown on his private plot, but he did not receive the expected profit. Therefore, given the climatic conditions and market demand, he began growing pepper.
An advanced drip irrigation system has been installed in the greenhouse, covering 18 hectares. Harvesting has already begun from seedlings planted in November 2025. The black shark pepper variety is known for high yields and strong market demand.
The export of pepper grown in the mahalla greenhouses contributes to the industry’s further development and the efficient use of land.
