From September 28 to October 3, Uzbekistan Cinematography Agency organizes the 13th Pearl of the Silk Road Film Festival.

The opening ceremony will take place at Alisher Navoi Cinema Palace.

According to the Agency, the festival will be held under the motto “For peace, enlightenment and development!”

The opening ceremony of Tashkent branch of the Russian State University of Cinematography named after S.A.Gerasimov will take place within the framework of the festival. The “Cinema in Five Days” competition will take place, within which young directors from 22 countries will shoot short films on the “Great Silk Road” and present them at the New Generation Cinema festival. It is planned to organize Cinema Days of 13 countries. 150 films have been prepared for screening within the framework of World Cinema Day, most of which will be shown with subtitles in Uzbek. It is expected to sign cooperation agreements with some foreign film companies. The films “Baron-2”, “The Taste of the Sun”, “Peri’s Gift”, filmed by the Cinematography Agency in cooperation with Russian film companies, will be shown.

Almost 150 famous filmmakers from different countries will attend the film festival. Creative meetings, master classes and briefings with the participation of famous directors and actors will take place.
