Participants of the Second International Festival of Handicrafts and the International Pottery Forum were solemnly welcomed at Kokand Railway Station.

It is expected that famous artisans, specialists, industry scientists, honored guests and cultural and art figures from more than 70 countries will participate in the festival. In addition, about a thousand craftsmen from all regions of Uzbekistan will demonstrate their products at the event.

The festival will include several events, solemn processions of participants, an exhibition and sale of products of domestic and foreign masters, a scientific conference on “World practice in preservation and development of traditional crafts”, a fashion show with the participation of international and Uzbek master designers, folk festivals, a book fair “Handicraft of Uzbekistan”, an album presentation, the opening of the International Museum of Crafts, and an excursion along the cultural, entertainment and tourist routes of Fergana.

According to the charter of the International Festival of Handicrafts, competitions among domestic and foreign masters will be held within its framework. An international jury of seven people will evaluate the contestants’ work. The jury consists of highly qualified specialists, well-known figures of art and culture, scientists, researchers, practitioners, and representatives of relevant industries from participating countries.

The international jury will evaluate the exhibition of products and master classes of the contest participants in 5 categories: “The best craftsman”, “The youngest craftsman”, “The best master of the craft school”, “The successor of an ancient dynasty” and “The craftsman who restored the appearance of ancient crafts”. The winners will be awarded with special diplomas and cash prizes.
