Arab World Institute in Paris hosted masterclasses by Davlat Toshev, one of the recognized Uzbek miniaturists.
His works were presented at international events, including the Central Asian Craftsmen exhibition in Kazakhstan (2001-2003), Uzbek Miniature in Paris (2005) and Santa Fe, USA (2009).

In 2019, he founded the “Ustoz – Shogird” (Master – Apprentice) Center for Applied Arts for Children. The artistic miniature vividly reflects the cultural identity of the Uzbek people. It helps to rethink the spiritual values and ideals of medieval society, adapting them to the needs of modernity. Today, the miniature has become a unique and important form of practical decorative color representation, and is used to decorate objects made of leather, wood, porcelain and ceramics.

According to the Art and Culture Development Foundation under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, masterclasses were held as part of the cultural and enlightenment program of the exhibition “The Road to Samarkand. Wonders of Silk and Gold”.
