The business forum on Uzbekistan’s tourism potential was held at the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in France on September 5.
The business forum on Uzbekistan’s tourism potential was held at the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in France on September 5. The event with participation of French entrepreneurs was organized in cooperation with MEDEF International Association.
Uzbekistan delegation was attended by the Acting Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Tourism Development Abdulaziz Akkulov, First Deputy Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Sunnatilla Bekenov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to France Sardor Rustamboyev.
Christophe Fontaine, Chairman of MEDEF International, represented the French side.
A new master plan of Charvak tourism zone, prepared jointly with the French consortium, and a master plan for the project of Zaamin tourism zone, prepared by Idealist was presented at the forum. In addition, the Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism Development made a presentation of Uzbekistan’s tourism potential.
In the second part of the event, participants were provided with detailed information about investment opportunities in Uzbekistan, strategic market directions, including benefits and opportunities for investors in the tourism sector.
Presentations of projects aroused great interest among French entrepreneurs.
Following the forum, it was decided that targeted projects throughout Uzbekistan would be available to French investors and businessmen through MEDEF International, which, in turn, agreed with the consortium to continue promoting Uzbekistan’s tourism in France and assist foreign investors in information and organizational issues.
MEDEF International is a non-profit private-funded organization, created in 1989 by MEDEF, the French Business Confederation. MEDEF International is the most representative organization of the French private sector at an international level.
MEDEF International aims at promoting the French companies’ know-how abroad through collective actions. MEDEF International supports trade, technologic cooperation and investments, long-term partnerships, especially on emerging and developing markets as well as reconstruction markets. It gathers every year about 7100 French companies already operating in the world, in 85 Business Councils headed by 55 CEOs of major international French companies.
