Tashkent State University of Economics hosted the International Environmental Event “Green Action Day”.
The event began with planting trees on the territory of the university, which was attended by the Rector of the University K. Sharipov and the Chairman of the Ecological Party of Uzbekistan A. Khamzayev.

At the event, scientific and practical recommendations were given by the Climate Change Advisor to the UN Secretary-General, Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, Professor Rae Kwon Chung, and UNDP Resident Representative a.i. in Uzbekistan Anas Fayyad Qarman.
The reasons for the increase in environmental problems in the era of globalization were touched upon, and their negative consequences and the measures necessary to solve the issues were discussed.

“I’m glad that world-famous diplomats and environmentalists, particularly Mr. Rae Kwon Chung, are participating in the event”, says Mr. Khamzaev. “I would like to propose the mutual exchange without any barriers between all states of scientific achievements and technologies developed by scientists to improve the environment. The planet is common to everyone. Individual environmental problems may occur or increase in some parts of our earth. But one cannot help but think that no state, no region is immune from this. Therefore, we must share experience and achievements in this direction”.

An essay competition “My Green City” and presentations “Eco Startup” were held as part of the event.
Professor Rae Kwon Chung launched the “I am First” social campaign, founded to improve the environment.
