Members of the Uzbekistan Junior National Wrestling team won 1 gold, 2 silver and 5 bronze medals at the 2016 Cadet Asian Wrestling Championship, which was held in Taichung, Chinese Taipei.

In freestyle wrestling, Rustam Juraev in the weight category up to 46 kg rose to the highest step of the pedestal. Our wrestler won over Rattanmanun Ratanativat – wrestler from Thailand, Iranian Amirhussain Hodi Hodabakshiparijan, representative of the DPRK Hyonsong Hann and Nurimbet Atabekuli from Kazakhstan. Islam Ilhomov took third place in the weight category up to 42 kg.

Elbek Ergashev and Muhammadkodir Yusupov reached the final competition in Greco-Roman wrestling and won silver medals.

Bronze medals went to Ihtiyor Botirov, Muhammadali Obidjonov and Parviz Muminov. In female wrestling, Hadicha Najimova took third place.
