The Challenge round of Equestrian World Cup took place 12-14 September in Bostanlik District of Tashkent Region.

Around 50 horse-riders vied for victory in the competition organized under the auspices of the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) by the Ministry of Culture and Sports, Uzbekistan Equestrian Federation and other institutions.

At a press conference addressing the event it was noted that a special attention is paid under the leadership of President Islam Karimov to the development of sports, in particular the equestrian sport, and the economic and technical capacities of equestrian schools are being stepped up, while national games like Kupkari, Qiz Quvdi are promoted to evolve harmoniously along with the modern types of horse-riding sports.

Uzbekistan’s jockeys rose to the highest podium in competitions overcoming bars at the qualifying stages of the Central Asian League of the World Cup.

Members of our national team have been succeeding in team competitions Nations Cup held annually as part of this prestigious tournament.

Currently, around a thousand young people study the secrets of horsemanship in the Republican School of Equestrian Higher Sport Mastery in Tashkent, the horse-sports clubs and schools of Bukhara, Samarkand, Andijan, Ferghana, Namangan and other regions.

“Targeted efforts are underway to boost the mastery of our young jockeys,” says Jurakuzi Turdimatov, executive director of Uzbekistan Equestrian Federation. “In particular, it has become a tradition to hold various contests and championships in localities, of master classes with the participation of international class masters of sports.”

In the contest that took place at the Allure Equestrian Club in Bostanlik District, the horsemen competed in show jumping – overcoming bars on horseback.

Within competitions of category A, the best was Azam Talibbaev with his horse nicknamed Romiro. He was followed by Aziz Sadykov on Quattro Junior and Gairat Nazarov on horse with the nick Bek.

Akyl Sabirdjanov on Demilon retained leadership in the category B, while Saidamirkhan Turgunbaev on Grand and Temur Azizov on Sapphire came second and third, respectively.

According to Uzbekistan Equestrian Federation, the horse-riders who came first in this tournament, in case they defeat winners of similar tournaments in other continents, will have an opportunity to perform in the finals of World Cup Challenge due in Bulgaria in 2015.
