OSCE Secretary General reaffirms commitment to further deepen and enhance collaboration

Permanent Representative of Uzbekistan to the OSCE, Ambassador Abat Fayzullayev has met with the OSCE Secretary General Helga Schmid.

The parties discussed a wide range of cooperation issues, including the prospects for the implementation of joint projects.

The Secretary General highly appreciated the efforts of Uzbekistan to enhance cooperation with the OSCE and emphasized the interest in further strengthening the dialogue.

It was noted that a breakthrough has been achieved in relations in recent years, and cooperation between Uzbekistan and the OSCE is actively moving forward in several areas of mutual interest.

The interlocutors reaffirmed their commitment to further deepen and enhance collaboration on youth issues and promoting gender equality, taking into account the priorities of the Swedish Chair of the OSCE.

Following the talks, Helga Schmid announced the readiness of the OSCE Secretariat to take an active part in the implementation of projects and activities aimed at supporting the large-scale reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan.
