A delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE PA) arrived in Tashkent on October 21 to observe the Presidential Elections in Uzbekistan.

The delegation, which includes more than 100 parliamentarians from 25 OSCE participating States, is headed by a Member of Parliament from Germany Daniela De Ridder, Special Representative of the OSCE PA for Central Asia Reinhold Lopatka.

OSCE PA representatives plan to meet with the leadership of the Central Election Commission, political parties, ministries and agencies of Uzbekistan, to get acquainted with the level of readiness of polling stations for the upcoming elections, as well as the process of expressing the will of citizens on the election day.
