Embassy of Uzbekistan in South Korea, with the assistance of Korea – Uzbekistan Business Association under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy of the Republic of Korea, organized virtual talks between the leadership of Seowon University and the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan to establish cooperation in higher education and discuss the issue of opening a branch of this university in the city of Nukus.
The parties expressed interest in establishing cooperation in implementing student exchange programs, organizing internships for the teaching staff of Karakalpakstan universities in South Korea, inviting professors of Seowon University to teach at higher educational institutions of Karakalpakstan, as well as to conduct joint research work.
The participants of the event also exchanged views on the directions of study in the joint educational programs planned for implementation. In particular, interest was expressed in training personnel in digital agriculture, biotechnology, cosmetology, food industry and others.
The issue of the creation of a Seowon University branch in the city of Nukus was discussed.
President of Seowon University, Son Seok Min, expressed interest in establishing cooperation with the Uzbek side. He noted that a special working group will be established at the university to implement this project in Karakalpakstan.
