Today, one third of all of the country’s industrial products and 98 per cent of all the agricultural products of the country are produced by farmers and small business and private entrepreneurship entities. More than 77 per cent of the employed population is also working precisely in this sphere.

An open dialogue has been conducted by the executive committee of the political council of the Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan in cooperation with the XXI Asr socio-political newspaper and the Uzbekistan Farmers Council on increasing the effectiveness of the allocation of credits for farms and small business and private entrepreneurship entities, on preventing unlawful interference in the work of entrepreneurial entities and on providing entrepreneurial entities with practical help in issues relating to export.

The open dialogue was attended by officials of the Prosecutor-General’s Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Justice Ministry, the State Tax Committee, the Central Bank and Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources and leading commercial banks.

The movement of entrepreneurs and businessmen – the Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan is taking an active part in consistently continuing systemic changes in the country’s economy and in opening up even wider possibilities for private ownership, small business and entrepreneurship. Specifically, direct dialogues are being held regularly with middle class representatives, and the meaning and essence of regulatory acts and documents directed towards supporting entrepreneurship are being explained to participants. Proposals and views expressed during those dialogues are studied, and relevant departments’ attention and that of the wider public are drawn to problematic issues.
