On October 24, an important political process took place in Uzbekistan – the election of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. In this regard, many foreign experts, observers and journalists arrived in the country. They observed the electoral process with great interest.
The Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mazahir Panahov was among the international observers.
– Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan are friendly and fraternal countries. I participated in the previous elections in Uzbekistan too, – he said. – Over the past period, an electoral practice has been formed here, aspiration for a prosperous future is visible. It is noteworthy that both young and elderly people take an active part in this important political process and demonstrate their strong civic position. In all polling stations, the responsible persons conducting the elections were provided with special clothing taking into account the pandemic. A separate voting room has also been created for people with disabilities. Everyone had equal conditions.

The elections were held openly and in accordance with democratic principles. In the future, the rich experience accumulated in Uzbekistan in organizing and holding elections can have a positive effect not only in the Republic of Azerbaijan, but also in the practice of the CIS countries. I think that these elections will be recorded as an important event that will mark the beginning of a new period in Uzbekistan’s development.
