The Central Election Commission (CEC) held enlarged online meeting with the participation of the chairmen and members of the district electoral commissions on elections of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The Central Election Commission (CEC) held enlarged online meeting with the participation of the chairmen and members of the district electoral commissions on elections of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The meeting was also attended by international observers, representatives of political parties and the media.

The Chairman of the CEC M.Abdusalomov stressed that preparations for the elections of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan is being carried out on the basis of democratic principles of openness, transparency and fairness and in full compliance with the requirements of the national legislation.

During the meeting the sides discussed the implementation of the Programme of main activities for the preparation and conduct of elections of the President of Uzbekistan. It was noted that in the framework of its implementation, the electoral commissions have done a great organizational work aimed at ensuring citizen’s electoral rights.

For the elections of the President of Uzbekistan, 9058 polling stations were established, including 44 – at the representations of Uzbekistan in foreign countries. Precincts are provided with everything necessary for voting. Each polling station has information about the candidates for the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Divisional election committees are informing voters about the time and place of voting. Measures also being taken for the organization of early voting and voting at the place of residence for elderly voters and persons with disabilities, who are not able to come to the polling station on election day.

It was noted that currently operate observers from OSCE and CIS. The members of the missions of international organizations getting acquainted with the works of the election commissions. On the polling day and during the counting of votes, observers from the political parties that nominated candidates and the representatives of the media shall have the right to participate in all events of the preparation and conduct of elections at each polling station. The creation of all necessary conditions for their work is one of the main directions of the activity of election commissions.

Thanks to visual communication, the members of district election commissions received detailed information on all practical issues related to the organization and conduct of the upcoming elections.
