On December 7, Tashkent National Press Center hosted a press conference on the ongoing work on the population census in 2023.

The press conference was attended by the leadership of the State Statistics Committee, employees of the Department for the Organization and Conduction of Census Process, and media representatives.

Deputy Chairman of the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan Mahmudjon Ziyadullayev noted that the census is a large-scale national event that allows to take a “photo” of the country's population over a certain period of time and is a reliable source of information about the population.

The population census in Uzbekistan will be conducted from 1 to 25 November 2023. A pilot population census will be conducted in Khojabad district of Andijan region, Yuqori Chirchiq district of Tashkent region, Khiva city of Khorezm region and Yashnabad district of Tashkent city from November 1 to 25, 2021.
