One more opportunity for graduates
“Start-up week” events have been held in Khojayli District in the Republic of Qoraqalpoghiston, north-western Uzbekistan, for the purpose of providing jobs for college graduates and helping them start their own businesses.
“Start-up week” events have been held in Khojayli District in the Republic of Qoraqalpoghiston, north-western Uzbekistan, for the purpose of providing jobs for college graduates and helping them start their own businesses.Within the “Start-up week” arranged by the Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations of the Republic of Uzbekistan in cooperation with the Central Bank and the district’s hokimiyat (governorate), the district stage of a contest of innovative ideas took place. It was the qualifying phase for business ideas of young people graduating from the Khojayli agro-economics vocational college.
During this contest, 39 graduates of the vocational college presented their business ideas. Every participant gave information about the purpose of their project, a time-frame for its implementation, about how many new jobs would be created as a result and about what socio-economic issues would be solved.
A special commission found 13 graduates’ projects to be deserving of funding, and commercial banks gave them special “Crediting certificates” on financing.
A job fair was conducted as part of the “Start-up week”. At this job fair, 60 enterprises and establishments in the district offered 234 vacant job positions. Temporarily unemployed people were given job placement documents, and college graduates were given legal advice.
