The Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan – Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Jamshid Khodjayev met with the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Bakyt Torobaev, via videoconference.
The meeting was attended by heads of ministries, agencies, industry associations, diplomatic missions of the two countries.
Issues of bilateral cooperation in industrial cooperation, agriculture, transport and logistics were considered. Views were exchanged on the organization of joint events, in particular, the parties discussed the production of agricultural machinery, automobiles, building materials, calcium carbide, as well as the creation of an industrial cooperation center, a textile complex and the construction of a small hydroelectric power station “Kogart” with a capacity of 6,7 MW. The parties agreed to develop a package of investment agreements shortly.
The sides exchanged views on the organization of the procurement of food and seed potatoes, the creation of livestock complexes. An agreement was reached to intensify cooperation in the supply of equipment for agriculture and greenhouses, raw materials for manufacturing woolen products.
The parties also discussed the issues of restoring bus and rail passenger traffic, increasing the number of flights between the two countries and building the Daroot-Korgon – Uch Kurgan highway. The parties noted their readiness to take all necessary measures in this direction.
The issue of holding in Bishkek the 10th meeting of Uzbekistan – Kyrgyzstan Intergovernmental Commission on Bilateral Cooperation and a Business Forum with the participation of the heads of regions of the two countries at a high organizational and substantive level was considered.
