Commissioner of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights (Ombudsman) Feruza Eshmatova has met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Switzerland to Uzbekistan Konstantin Obolensky.

At the meeting, the Ambassador was familiarized with the tasks and main activities of the Ombudsman Institute, as well as with the activities of the Commissioner for 10 months of 2021.

The parties discussed the implementation of measures in Uzbekistan to ensure human rights, the introduction of new mechanisms in the process of working with appeals from the population, to prevent torture, ensure openness and transparency, and strengthen freedom of speech.

Following the meeting, proposals were made for the development of mutually beneficial cooperation.
