At the meeting of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, in the second reading, the draft Law “On Ratification of the Convention No. 148 of the International Labour Organisation concerning the Protection of Workers against Occupational Hazards in the Working Environment Due to Air Pollution, Noise and Vibration (Geneva, 20 June 1977)” was considered.

– This draft law was discussed and adopted in the first reading at a meeting of the lower house on January 10 this year, –MP Nodir Tilavoldiyev said. – In the process of preparing the draft for the second reading, editorial changes were made to the text of the document based on several proposals from deputies.

In particular, the word “workers” in the title of the law was changed to the word “employees” based on the labor legislation of the country. Also, the Uzbek text of Convention 148 of the International Labour Organisation has been improved in accordance with the legal documents of the Republic of Uzbekistan in labor.

Accession to this Convention will serve to take, in cooperation with experts from the International Labour Organisation, consistent measures to introduce international standards in labor protection into the national legislation. This will also contribute to the formation of a positive image of Uzbekistan in relations with international and regional organizations in the future.

At the meeting, the draft law was adopted.
