“On March 23 at 9 am the number of patients with coronavirus in Uzbekistan amounted to 46 people. All patients undergoing treatment at the Scientific Research Institute of Virology are under medical supervision, necessary procedures are carried out. Nine of them have pneumonia. The condition of the rest is stable. Today, another of our compatriots with the identified virus, who has traveled abroad in an epidemiologically unfavorable region, has been taken under surveillance. Once again, we recall that the disease has been detected among citizens under medical supervision.

Dear compatriots! All necessary measures are taken in accordance with the order of the Special Republican Commission. We are timely identifying exposed coronavirus infection. Medical personnel are monitoring for 14 days those who were in contact with sick people and returned from regions with poor conditions. The goal of all activities is the same – to prevent the spread of the disease among the general public. Today in Uzbekistan, almost 18 thousand people are under medical supervision. We must fully comply with quarantine measures. Everyone is responsible for their actions.

Traffic has been suspended in Tashkent. Responsible for all quarantine measures by the decision of the commission are the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, khokimiyats of Tashkent and regions.

Serious quarantine compliance is required. From today, entry into state and non-state institutions without a mask and hand treatment with an antiseptic is prohibited. None of us should go out without special need, and if it comes out, then only in a mask.

Execution of all necessary actions will help us cope with the current situation. Everyone must contribute to the fight against the epidemic and we will soon be able to stabilize the situation. What is happening in Italy, Europe and the USA should be an example for us. Each of us is responsible for preventing the spread of the disease at the global level, for our own health and the health of families and relatives. We all need to follow the recommendations of medical staff. The head of the state personally took control over the current situation.
