Nurmat Otabekov: “The Pyrola strain has not been recorded in Uzbekistan”
The Deputy Head of the Service for Sanitary-Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health provided information on the situation in Uzbekistan related to the spread of the new strain.
“Based on the possibility of the spread of seasonal acute respiratory diseases in the conditions of Uzbekistan, we are carrying out preparatory work before the onset of the autumn and winter months. Hospital beds and a reserve of medicines have been prepared”, says Nurmat Otabekov.
2 million 100 thousand doses of influenza vaccine were imported and delivered to Uzbekistan. Vaccination of part of the population at risk has begun.
“100 percent of the viruses recorded in Uzbekistan are the Omicron strain. The Pyrola strain has not been recorded. Before the outbreak of the disease, that is, until November, we will build up the level of immunity in the more vulnerable part of the population”, says Nurmat Otabekov.
