Nurmat Otabekov: The booster dose stabilizes the declining level of antibodies
14:11 / 2022-01-19

The practice of introducing a booster dose of vaccine has been used in medicine for a long time, and in Uzbekistan, it is used in the process of vaccination for several infectious diseases, such as paralysis, measles, rubella, diphtheria.

According to experts, vaccination with a booster dose can protect not only against the “alpha” and “delta” strains of coronavirus, but also against the “omicron”. Even if a person becomes infected, the disease proceeds easily.

“According to international experts in this sphere, after a person receives two or three doses of the vaccine, his body produces antibodies against COVID-19, the level of which decreases over time”, Nurmat Otabekov, Deputy Director of the Service for Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health said. – Vaccination with a booster dose in a short time increases the level of antibodies formed after the primary vaccination. This means that the booster dose can re-stabilize the declining antibody level.
