The delegation of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Türkiye, led by the Assembly Chair, Numan Kurtulmuş, who is in Uzbekistan on an official visit, visited Samarkand on May 23.

Responsible officials and representatives of the regional hokimiyat met the guests at the Samarkand International Airport.

The Chair of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye visited the Hazrati Khizr complex, the resting place of the First President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov. Verses from the Quran and prayers were recited.

The next object was the Imam Bukhari complex. Members of the delegation visited the grave of the outstanding hadith scholar Imam Bukhari. They got acquainted with the large-scale construction and landscaping activities being carried out here on the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The guests were of great interest in the work carried out here to transform the complex into a worthy place of worship for the memory of the great thinker. Numan Kurtulmuş noted that he is confident that this complex will become one of the holy places that Muslims worldwide will strive to visit.

Representatives of the Turkish Parliament highly appreciated the activities of the Imam Bukhari International Research Center and its work in studying and researching the scientific heritage of great scientists. It was noted that in the future, books prepared by the center’s staff based on ancient manuscripts and translated from other languages will reveal the true essence of the sacred religion of Islam and will provide an opportunity to study hadiths and other religious works based on primary sources.

The guests also visited the mausoleum of Amir Temur, the Registan complex, the Khoja Akhror Vali mosque, and other historical and cultural monuments, and with great delight, examined these objects, which embody the intellectual capabilities and creative potential of our ancestors.
