Nukus hosted Karakalpakstan Beach Kurash Championships.

The championships were attended by more than 200 athletes from districts and cities. It was organized by the Main Department of Tourism and Sports, Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Karakalpakstan and the Kurash Federation branch of Karakalpakstan.

Altinboy Tileuniyazov from Karauzak, Kurolbek Ayapov from Kungrad, Azizbek Genjeboyev from Nukus, Siypatdin Nuratdinov from Chimbay, Zahiriddin Zaytov from Nukus, Zukhra Isakova, Umida Jumaniyazova, Nafisa Reyimbayeva from Khodjeyli, Gulkumor Jannazarova from Nukus and Sabrina Uzakbayeva from Muynak district took the first places in their weight categories.

Winners were awarded diplomas and valuable gifts from the organizers. They received tickets to Uzbekistan Kurash Championships to be held on 22-27 June in Namangan.
